Start with the problem, not the product
Before building anything, define the problem in plain language. If you cannot explain who struggles, why it matters, and what the cost of inaction is, the idea is still unclear.
Look for real behavior
Validation is stronger when people already spend time, money, or effort solving the problem. Compliments are weak evidence. Existing behavior is stronger evidence.
Test willingness to pay
A useful idea becomes a business only when a clear group of people is willing to pay. Talk to potential customers, test pricing assumptions, and learn what would make the solution worth buying.
Decide what to do next
Validation does not need to be perfect. It needs to reduce uncertainty enough to decide whether to continue, change direction, or stop before wasting serious time and money.
